Designer, illustrator and animator, Massimo produces a variety of static and 2D motion graphics, working by himself or as part of teams of creatives, working on a brief from initial concept through to final execution.

Massimo was born in Genoa, Italy, but has lived in London, UK, since 1995. After a childhood spent on comics and picture books, Massimo thought that being a cartoonist wouldn’t pay the bills and decided to become a product designer instead. But destiny didn’t let him get away with it and Massimo saw his new career as a cartoonist start spontaneously, in 2005.

Since then, Massimo’s work in the field of illustration has produced five books. The first four were a series on a couple of penguins named Gus & Waldo, published in UK (Orion) and several other countries and translated in 6 languages.
In September 2011 he published his latest cartoon book, 101 Uses For A Dead Meerkat (Boxtree).

As an animator, Massimo has worked for a variety of clients, producing adverts (one of which, for a subtitling company, was launched at the 2009 Venice Film Festival) and graphic packages for TV programmes such as Channel 4’s The Home Show, Cook Yourself Thin and Embarrassing Bodies and Sky 1’s My Pet Shame.

Other works in progress include more illustrated humour books, children’s books, music album covers, greeting cards and stationery, merchandise, editorials for periodicals, various graphic projects and more animations.
